Queer Community Conversations: Empowering Financial Literacy for Youth Who Have Experienced Foster Care

Learning about money management and financial literacy can be stressful for everyone, and it is particularly challenging when a person is dealing with limited access to resources and traumatic experiences with institutions. My work often centers upon building up skills, knowledge, and practices for financial literacy in young adults impacted by foster care, so that they can feel confident and effective in navigating resources available to them and moving toward the goals that they have defined for their lives. I am excited to share with you some of the strategies, tools, challenges, and outcomes from this work.
