QCC: Using Self-Determination and Peer-Led Advocacy to Improve Health Equity Outcomes for BIPOC LGTBQ Youth

As a community, we have a shared understanding of the problems we face, and know the most appropriate solutions. By centering mutual support, we build trust in our communities and disrupt the disparate distribution of money, power, and resources that lead to health inequities. Peer-led advocacy is an effective strategy for supporting our community members’ self-determination, which leads to increased access to social determinants of health.

In this series, we will be collaborating with and supporting the work of organizations serving Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) to better serve our LGBTQ+ BIPOC communities. We know that when we center and support the self-determination of BIPOC LGBTQ people, we are supporting all of our communities.

ABOUT QUEER COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS
An online conversation with our community where we discuss the concerns affecting LGBTQ people in Washington State during COVID-19, share queer-affirming resources, and create a space for LGBTQ voices to be heard.
