Reserving a Space at Seattle's LGBTQ+ Center

Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center offers two meeting/event spaces for rental: the Grand Conference Room and the Cozy Conference Room. Both are available for rental seven days per week, except for major holidays. Sundays are by special arrangement only.

Both rooms are available in our space at 400 E. Pine St Suite 100, Seattle, WA 98122.

Grand Conference Room

The Grand Conference Room is a large, well-lit meeting or community space, with large windows offering a view out onto Pine Street.

  • Capacity: 25-35 people
  • Amenities: tables, chairs, HDMI compatible projector, white board
  • Rate: $50 per hour for Queer community, $75 per hour regular rate
  • Dimensions: approximately 29′ by 23′ (667 sq. ft)
  • Accessibility: small staircase with railing; wheelchair lift available

Cozy Conference Room

The Cozy Conference Room is a comfortable, welcoming space that’s perfect for smaller meetings, book clubs, game nights, workshops, and other events.

  • Capacity: 10-15 people
  • Amenities: tables, chairs, white board, foosball table
  • Rate: $30 per hour for Queer community, $50 per hour regular rate
  • Dimensions: approximately 26′-7″ by 10′-1″ (268 sq. ft)
  • Accessibility: small staircase with railing; wheelchair lift available

Rental Policies

Please read the policies and guidelines below to ensure a straightforward rental experience. You will be asked to sign a contract stating that you agree to abide by these policies.

Renting During COVID-19

Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center  is committed to the safety and health of our neighbors, community, and staff. We will be following the current Washington State and King County Safe Guidelines at all times.

We offer optional, free masks for everyone that enters our space. Please do not come to the Center with COVID, Mpox, or flu-like symptoms. 

Damages
Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center shall not be liable for any injury or damage to persons or their property sustained by use of or while on the rented premises.  The Renter agrees to defend and hold harmless Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center, or its agents from any claim, action and/or alleged injury suffered on the premises.  Renter acknowledges responsibility for any damages caused by their negligence and that of their guests or invitees.  Should the Renter be responsible for damage and/or loss of value to the rented area of the premises, the Renter hereby agrees to reimburse Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center for such loss immediately upon the presentation of a bill for said damage and/or loss.  If court action is sought to enforce the provisions of this agreement, Renter may be liable for attorney’s fees and costs.
Reservations & Payment
  1. Your room is reserved when rental contract is completed, signed and payment is made. For series rentals which extend beyond a month, the first two weeks’ payment is required for reservation.
  2. For ongoing renters, subsequent month payments are due on the first of the month or quarter. Invoices may be sent upon request. A late fee may be applied if payment is not received by the 10th or a check is returned.
  3. Payment may be made by check or credit card payable to Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center.  We also accept PayPal.
Cancellations & Refunds
  1. If renter should provide less than 14 days written notice to Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center of its cancellation of the Event, Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center will refund 50% of total Rental Fee.
  2. For Renter’s notice of cancellation given in writing to Gay City less than 14 days prior to the Event, Renter is still responsible for Rental Fee payment in full.
Room Use & Conduct
  1. Renters are responsible for setting up, cleaning and returning any furniture brought into the room. Staff can direct you to the kitchen and cleaning supplies.
  2. No tacks, nails, screws, etc., will be driven into the walls or ceiling, nor will they be marred or torn by glue or tape.
  3. No alterations of any kind to the existing structure (stage, lights, etc.) are allowed.
  1. Smoking is prohibited.
  2. Lit candles, incense or smudge, dry ice, or open flames of any kind are prohibited at all times.
  3. Children must be supervised by responsible adult at all times. Children cannot be unaccompanied in buildings, playgrounds or parking lots.
  4. Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center  is not responsible for items lost or stolen at our sites. Ask for Lost & Found at reception desk.
  5. Renter shall be responsible for compliance with all rules and regulations governing the use of the facility, for any and all damage to buildings and equipment, and agrees to clean up the rental spaces and leave in good order and repair.
  6. Disparaging remarks, obscene behaviors, or any type of physical violence will not be tolerated and will be cause for immediate expulsion at Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center’s sole discretion.

    1. Additional behaviors that constitute immediate rental termination include, but are not limited to:  excessive use of alcohol by the Renter and/or participants, refusal to keep music at an acceptable noise level, rowdy behavior by adults or children, use of unauthorized parts of the rented premises, Neighbors’ objections to participant conduct, damage to the rented premises or its equipment, and unsafe use of the rented premises.
Alcohol
If alcohol is to be served at the Event, Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center strongly encourages that Renter hire a caterer who is licensed to serve and/or sell alcohol at events.  Renter agrees to understand and comply with all Washington State Liquor Laws.  A proper alcohol permit/license must be obtained and posted at the Event Space by the Renter and/or Caterer if alcohol is being served as required by law.
Garbage
Please take all garbage to the large receptacle containers in the kitchen.  Please be sure to bag all trash and breakdown all cardboard. 
Travel & Parking
Several bus lines stop within one block of the Center, including the 8 and 11. Capitol Hill Station is only 6 blocks away, where you can access the Link Light Rail. We encourage you and your event attendees to utilize public transit to minimize carbon emissions.

To better enable access to transit, we offer ORCA LIFT enrollment assistance for those that are low-income. 

If you must drive, know that there is no lot or dedicated parking for Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center. However, there are several paid parking options and limited free two-hour parking spaces.

Paid street parking is available Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Paid parking lots are also available. The cheapest is Seattle Central College Garage (4 blocks away).

 

Pets & Animals
No animals (with the exception of licensed service animals) are allowed inside. 
Clean Up
  1.  All floors are cleaned and spills spot-cleaned, if needed.
  2. Equipment and furniture is returned to pre-event condition and position.
  3. Any signs or decorations used for the event are removed.
  4. Bathrooms (and kitchen, if used) are to be left clean and in good condition.
  5. The outside grounds and parking lot must be cleared of cans, bottles, cigarette butts and other debris.
  6. The premises have been cleaned and vacated within the time period allotted for the event.  If the Renter’s occupancy exceeds the time limit for the rental, additional rent and monitoring fees will be applied.
  7.  The Renter complies with all additional clean up requirements outlined in the specific room clean-up policy document
