Project BuildOUT Progress

Our goal for the first phase of Project BuildOUT was to raise $100,000 in individual giving in support of our upcoming expansion. Thanks to the generosity of our Project BuildOUT supporters, including the recent Cork Screw Wine Tasting benefit, as well as the GiveBIG day sponsored by The Seattle Foundation, we're thrilled to report that we've reached that goal! The continuing generosity of our sponsors, supporters, donors and volunteers has helped us get the new Gay City ready for our move-in next month, and we are very grateful for that.

With Phase 1 of Project BuildOUT complete, we're excited to announce Phase 2 of Project BuildOUT, where we hope to raise an additional $50,000 for fixtures and equipment in the multi-purpose room and the new LGBT Library & Resource center. With your help, we'll be able to install the sound, lighting, and projection equipment necessary to create a truly spectacular multi-purpose room, capable of hosting everything from community meetings to public art events. With your help, we'll be able to offer drop-in referral services in the Resource & Referral center, including public access internet terminals, and an electronic catalog and reservation system for books in the LGBT Library.

Help us reach our goal for Phase 2 of Project BuildOUT by September by making a special donation in support of our new facilities. Giving levels start at $100. Gifts of $500 or more will be recognized on the donor wall in our new space.

Building a New Gay City

Build Community

Our vision for Project BuildOUT is to create a resource hub and social destination for the LGBT community in Seattle - a place to gather and connect. Our new facility will have more than double its current space, allowing us to significantly expand on-site programming and services, as well as providing drop-in space for our community.

Build Health

With more than twice its current space, the Gay City Wellness Center will have an increased range of screening, counseling, and other health support services.

The increased space will also allow Gay City to build new partnerships with other LGBT community organizations.

Build Resources

Project BuildOUT will allow the Gay City LGBT Library to triple in size and gain street access, providing space for the more than 3,500 volumes in the Library's collection. The increased space will also allow Gay City's Resource & Referral volunteers to provide more drop-in and face-to-face services.

Build Arts

Project BuildOUT includes the addition of a 750 sq. ft. multi-purpose assembly space with the potential for a variety of uses, including: theatrical productions, film screenings, spoken word events, musical performances, visual arts installations, readings, writing workshops seminars, community meetings, and private events. The arts space will allow Gay City to have more on-site events, and will be available for rental and use by the community.

Gay City Leadership Circle
$5,000 and above

Leadership Circle members will receive prominent name recognition in a distinct area at the top of the donor wall, plus all the Partners For Health Leadership Circle benefits.

Gay City Patrons
$2,500 - $4,999

Patrons will receive individual recognition in the Patrons section of the donor wall, plus all the Partners For Health Patron benefits.

Gay City Sustainers
$1,000 - $2,499

Sustainers will receive individual recognition in the Sustainers section of the donor wall, plus all the Partners For Health Sustainer benefits.

Gay City Supporters
$500 - $999

Supporters will receive individual recognition in the Supporter section of the donor wall, plus all the Partners For Health Supporter benefits.

Gay City Friends
$100 - $499

Friends will receive temporary recognition in grouped areas on the wall based on the level of their gift, plus all the Partners For Health Friends benefits.
